i think someone said motown about the new medley  :-) so what is it?  :-)

I never expected him to sing this type of songs on his show. good for him for doing so.
it's definitely not my favourite but he does what he wants. it's his show.

Without wanting to claim being an expert but:
September - Earth Wind and Fire (Funk and Soul group)
Rock with You - Micheal Jackson (hardly considered disco...I think this song would be labelled soul)
Never too much? (dont know that song)
Teardrops - Womack and Womack (Soul and Funk)
Le Freak - Chic (band is a funk/disco group...but le Freak is by far their least disco track)

I also like to add that the 4 songs I know are highly and critcally acclaimed songs which have been all a great succes around the world.
Disco has a sort of cheesy image...and yes disco has gotten its influences from funk and soul music, but nowadays Soul music is not associated with Disco.
Best example of disco? Listen to the Queen of Disco....Donna Summer.

Well you sound like an expert.  ;)

These songs I would have heard in a disco in my youth but have no problem with the medley being called soul/funk but it's not "Motown" as I would understand that genre.
